The TVR Project
TVR Chimera 4Ltr HC year 1995. I personally imported this car from Japan, as a non runner needing restoration to the interior and paintwork.
Prior to me purchasing the vehicle had spent most of its life sat in an underground car park, where it sustained waterdamage to the interior i.e. leather seats, carpet, but luckily no electrical damage! Exterior the paintwork was in bad shape along with the rear section of hood.
This car was obviously an export model and therefore benefits from air conditioning, power steering, and full leather interior.
First job was a full strip out removing rotten carpet badly damaged seats etc until the interior was just a shell, then came the hard bit...rebuilding!
Seat were re upholstered with new foam and Portland grey leather, with detailed stitching as the originals. Upgraded dash panel to a stainless steel and carbon fibre inlay version.
New carpets were fitted throughout supplied by Cloverdale Ltd, I even had some additional overmats made complete with leather trim!
Hood was the next thing that needed attention, the rear section was totally replaced, parts supplied by Car Hoods Northern Ltd. The centre section of the roof was then totally cleaned and waterproofed.
Paintwork was carried out by a local paintshop that has full paintshop facilities...a job best done by the professionals to get the quality of finish that I required.
Finally the vehicle was registered and serviced in time to go to the Goodwood Revival.
